From the industrial wastelands of Detroit came GARGOYLE SOX. Their drark, brooding songs feature throbbing guitars and pounding bass lines driven by drum machine crashes and pre-programmed synthesiser madness. The legends tell of wretched souls who witnessed a GARGOYLE SOX concert and have never been the same.

GARGOYLE SOX were conceived and unleashed on an unsuspecting public in the spring of 1984. A studio project began in the fall. February 1985 brought the release of “As The Master Sleeps...,” the debut E.P. from GARGOYLE SOX on their own Manster Records. The record enjoued many months on the independent charts and reached #1 at many college and alternative radio stations around the country, establishing the duo on a national level.

With the success of “As The Master Sleeps...,” GARGOYLE SOX began infecting the Mid-West and East Coast with their unique two-man stage performances. The band was featured at the 1986 College Music Journal Convention at the Limelight in New York City. The onslaught continues today, including tour dates with New Order, Iggy Pop, X, Peter Murphy, and the Sisters of Mercy.

The latest album from GARGOYLE SOX is titled “Headless Horseman.” This demented gem contains nine unsettling selections and features front cover artwork from prominent illustrator J.K. Potter. The new L.P. covers more musical turf than “As The Master Sleeps...,” but the signature GARGOYLE SOX trademarks of throbbing guitars, swirling keyboards, and pounding percussion still remain. “Headless Horseman” tells stories and paints pictures unlike most other records.
